Director here. I'm helping a player make a caster and I think that bloodline could use some disambiguation. The power states +1 wand damage and +1 to defensive or offensive casting. What is a defensive spell? I think it means that buff spells like most of technomancy would be covered under defense while charm spells would be more offensive. It was just meant to suggest that while countering spells, perhaps? Please advise.

Does this clarify it?
"Bloodline (3; or 2 for Sorcerers and Witchers) An ancestor was tainted by magic, giving your PC a +1 bonus on wand damage and on MGK checks either to cast spells or resist spell effects (choose one). See page 83."

Nice! That makes the defense more viable. Also would you be able to buy that again for the defense if you take the offense first as well as extra wand damage? Furthermore that disambiguation should be made on the wand list as well. PG 118 Hawthorn/PMMA.

I don't think it should be available for multiple purchases.
Thanks for the reminder about the wands.

Might almost be worth making it two separate assets then. Depending on space limitations.

It's intentionally one asset for a couple of reasons - to cut down a bit on 'munchkining' but primarily to add some more variation in the spellcasters you'll play/meet.

Oh okay, the way I was thinking was something along the lines of: Bloodline - Hexer (3; or 2 for Sorcerers and Witchers) An ancestor was "tainted" by magic, giving your PC a +1 bonus on wand damage and on MGK checks to cast spells. A character may only ever have 1 Bloodline asset. See page 83. Bloodline - Charmed (3; or 2 for Sorcerers and Witchers) An ancestor was "tainted" by magic, giving your PC a +1 bonus on wand damage and on MGK checks to resist spell effects. A character may only ever have 1 Bloodline asset. See page 83. Also leaves it open to having further Bloodline assets later.

Especially since like you said, it leaves the option for other Bloodlines later (and possibly even ones that aren't magic related).

I may do that if there's room. (Even if not, adding future Bloodlines in supplements is still a possibility.)

I broke this up into two sub-categories below Bloodline.
