The rules say:
"During a Move action, your character can traverse a number of feet in any direction, with the distance depending both on the action and his [Athletics] score."
According to this and the chart on the same page, if a character has 0 Athletics, she cannot move at all during combat. Please address- my players are getting uppity (and they managed to get out of their shock collars).

Wow - Athletics is so crucial that I never met a character with 0 Athletics before... You're right, though - it could technically happen. I think I'll have to add a note that characters with Athletics 0 can only make a 5-foot movement. How does that sound?

That should work out fine, and was probably what I was going to rule. One of them only put points into Athletics so they could move during combat, though it does seem silly for a character to have none at all.
Anyways, thanks a lot for addressing it.

Perhaps you could base movement speed off of Deftness, instead of Athletics? Then, since Deftness has a minimum value of one, everyone would be guaranteed to have some movement capabilities. Or, if you still want movement to be based off of Athletics, you could make the value that's currently your Athletics be (Deftness + Athletics) / 2, rounded up, which will also have a minimum value of one since you have at least one Deftness.
Either way, you'd have to change the text on the Traceur (sp?) ability, assuming you make one of these changes.
As it is, I'm finding it hard to justify putting points in Athletics and Deftness, since as a Lister/Sorcerer I have a lot of other things that I NEED points in (or I feel I need points in), and only so many points to spend since I'm Fluxed.

Thanks for the comments! I'll have to consider that. Yes, Fluxed characters intentionally have to make some sacrifices elsewhere, though if it were me I'd sacrifice STR and KNO skills before DFT.
